Grant Contract signed with Japan Embassy for safe water to 6,00 people at Samundari, Faisalabad

Human Appeal-Pakistan has signed a Grant Contract with the Embassy of Japan under its Grant Assistance for Grass root Human Security Projects (GGP). The one year project aims to ensure access of marginalized communities to safe drinking water through installation of Water Filtration Plants at six villages of Tehsil Samundri of District Faisalabad. The signing ceremony was held at the Embassy of Japan, Islamabad. The project, worth $83,200, is expected to provide safe drinking water to approximately 6,000 households at six villages of the district and will help in minimizing water borne diseases, such as diarrhea, hepatitis and skin infections, in the target area. Human Appeal has a strong presence at District Faisalabad and contributed significantly for the amelioration of socio-economic status of needy people in the area. Besides ensuring access of over 5,000 people to clean drinking water, it is currently sponsoring around 350 orphans in the area. In recent past, it provided WASH facilities to 20 public sector primary schools in the district, benefitting more than 3,000 students.
