Peshawar Flood 2008

A number of people were killed or went missing in the flash floods in Peshawar in 2008. According to official estimates, at least 25,000 families (approximately 200,000 people) living in 130 villages were affected while the city was literaly immersed with mud and debris of the damaged houses. The flood also affected 900 Afghan families living in Khurasan refugee camp and many of them found it extremely difficult to move to safer places in view of cultural norms and practices.

The HAI-Pak was again on the forefront to help the affected people. Given below are the details of the relief and rehabilitation operation it conducted on the occasion:
