Sindh Flood 2011

In 2011, Sind received record breaking monsoon rains which eventually gave way to floods and destruction all around. Approximately 50 million lives were uprooted, in addition to huge devastation to livestock and standing crops. With more than 270 people killed, over four million acres of land was submerged under water; 2.5 million acres of crops destroyed and over a million houses damaged or washed away. The provincial administration was literally rendered unable to cope with this massive challenge single handedly.

The HAI-Pak conducted an extended operation to help the affectees deal with the situation. The details of it are as under:
